Why choose an automatic in Agadir?
In Morocco, most rental cars are manual: automatics are fewer, so it is best to ask early. If you usually drive an automatic, having one on holiday lets you focus on the road, roundabouts and signs rather than the clutch.
An automatic is especially pleasant in Agadir traffic, on the climb up to Agadir Oufella and on the hill roads inland.
The automatic cars in our fleet
The 2026 Dacia Logan petrol automatic is a five-seat saloon with a large boot, practical for families and travellers with several suitcases. It is also the model with the lowest starting rate in the fleet.
The 2026 Renault Clio 5 petrol automatic is more compact, easy to park and comfortable on the coastal road to Taghazout. Both models are listed with their specifications and rates in the table on this page.
Booking an automatic: our tips
Because automatics are fewer, send your request as soon as your dates are known and clearly say “automatic”. A displayed rate does not reserve the car: availability is confirmed for your dates.
Also give the handover place you want (airport, Agadir, Aourir, Tamraght or Taghazout) and the number of travellers to receive a complete proposal.
Getting to know the car
At handover, take a few minutes with the agency to find the controls: park position, reverse, parking brake and driving aids. Adjust the seat and mirrors before you set off.
On downhill roads inland, ask the agency how to use the manual mode or low gears of your model, so you keep your speed under control.
Automatic or manual: which one?
If you are comfortable with a manual and plan to drive many kilometres, the manual diesel Renault Clio 5 is a fuel-efficient alternative. For a relaxed stay in town and along the coast, an automatic is more comfortable day to day.
If in doubt, describe your plans to the agency: it will point you to the most suitable model.
